Lunar New Year
Lunar New
Year is one of Korea’s biggest holidays. The entire family gets together
usually at the oldest family member’s house. Koreans celebrate Lunar New Year
by playing traditional games and consuming traditional food, such as
Dduck-gook. Dduck-gook is basically a rice cake soup with other ingredients in
it as well like beef and egg. Koreans consume Dduk-gook as celebrating to
adding another year to their age. One of many traditional games include Yoo-nori,
which is a Korean board game where each person takes turns and throw the stick
(as if it’s a die) and go forward or backward depending on how the sticks land. The first person to go around wins.
